  • The Volunteer Coordinator helps build a welcoming and supportive environment for our ESL volunteer teachers and tutors. This role ensures that volunteers are well-matched, trained, and supported so they can succeed in their classes and enjoy their experience with the program.

  • The Volunteer Orientation & Training Coordinator ensures that new ESL volunteers are fully prepared, trained, and placed in the right roles. This position focuses on creating and delivering orientation presentations, providing teacher training (including basic “how-to-teach ESL” strategies), and coordinating with library partners to ensure classes are available and well-supported.

  • The Tulane Student Site Coordinator helps manage the service-learning students from Tulane and Loyola who participate in the ESL tutoring program. This role ensures that student volunteers are properly trained, engaged, and active in both online and in-person tutoring. The coordinator also serves as the main point of contact between the program and university partners, helping to align service-learning requirements with meaningful ESL teaching opportunities.

  • The Board Engagement Officer ensures that the Board of Directors remains active, connected, and effective in advancing the mission of the organization. This role focuses on building relationships with board members, fostering accountability, and encouraging meaningful participation in fundraising, governance, and community engagement. The officer also supports board development by connecting members to training and resources that strengthen their leadership.

  • The Curriculum Volunteer helps strengthen the ESL program by developing and improving curriculum resources, supporting teachers, and analyzing student learning data. This role works with both online and in-person teachers to ensure they have high-quality materials, assessments, and strategies that make teaching effective and engaging. The Curriculum Volunteer also assists in building out the program’s existing “English is for Everyone” curriculum into a more comprehensive set of resources.

  • The Fundraising Coordinator helps generate community support and financial resources for the ESL program by developing local fundraising opportunities, engaging businesses, and planning events. This role involves creativity, outreach, and relationship-building to encourage sponsorships, donations, and involvement from local partners, festivals, and community events.

  • The Donor & Database Coordinator is responsible for managing donor information, tracking contributions, and ensuring that the organization maximizes its use of the GiveButter platform. This role focuses on accurate donor data management, personalized outreach, and maintaining strong donor relationships. Working closely with the Grant and Fundraising Coordinator, the Donor & Database Coordinator ensures that donor engagement is consistent, professional, and effective in supporting the organization’s mission.

  • The ESL Site Coordinator is the key point of contact for ESL program locations, ensuring that classes run smoothly across libraries, universities, and other partner sites. This role supports volunteers and teachers, manages communication with site partners, and helps expand opportunities for new class locations. The Site Coordinator ensures that schedules are accurate, classes are well-staffed, and volunteers receive the support they need to succeed.

  • The Data Coordinator / Administrator manages the organization’s data and communication systems, ensuring that student, teacher, and volunteer information is accurate, organized, and up to date. This role focuses on maintaining Constant Contact, cleaning and organizing records, and supporting effective communication with students, teachers, and community groups. The Data Coordinator also collaborates with other coordinators (such as Social Media and Outreach) to distribute announcements, newsletters, and event flyers.

  • The Outreach Coordinator strengthens the visibility and community connections of the ESL program by managing outreach events, partnerships, and tabling opportunities. This role ensures that the organization is represented professionally at festivals, community events, and partner activities, while also maintaining a database of outreach contacts and opportunities for future growth. The Outreach Coordinator also manages outreach supplies and helps develop cost-effective strategies for outreach materials.

  • The Accountant & Finance Coordinator ensures that the New Neighbor Project maintains strong financial health and compliance with nonprofit requirements. This role involves managing the operational budget, tracking income and expenses, overseeing grants and reporting, and ensuring all financial records are accurate and accessible. The coordinator also helps the organization remain in good standing with state and federal regulations by filing required forms and renewals.
